Report on DO recommendations (UK)
You may be interested to learn that the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has recently published a report which includes a recommendation that the UK Government consider allowing major energy users to receive credit for cutting emissions in their supply chains - basically a non-ETS offset.
The report can be found here:
http://climatechange.cbi.org.uk/news/cb ... ate-change and the recommendation appears on page 23.
The Carbon Markets and Investors Association is also doing some supporting work.
We are hoping that this type of idea will be included in a forthcoming UK government consultation. I or colleagues will try to keep you apprised.
Kind regards
Murray
